Lee Uhn, a South Korean actor who acted as Hwang Min Yeop in the popular Korean TV soap Coffee Prince has died from a motorcycle accident. The news has shocked a lot of Korean drama fans in Korea and worldwide.
Lee Un, the 27 year old model who recently turned into an actor was born by the name of Park Sang-Min. He was on his way home following the wrap party for KBS's Strongest Chil Woo early in the morning of August 21, 2008. He was riding a motorcycle and ran into the guardrail of the overpass, and is said to have died almost immediately.
Lee Eon had got his start in modeling but then got a part in Coffee Prince. He was the goofy one who liked Go Eun Chan’s (Yoon Eun Hye) sister. He had also acted in "When spring comes" (2007), "Who are You?" (2008), and "Strongest Chil Woo" (2008).

In most businesses, the big question is how will you measure its performance. Most companies will take on a third party to evaluate its system and if its performing up to par. Enter Prophix -- they have this corporate performance management (CPM) program that enables a company to understand, act on and influence its business performance through software, processes and measures of business success. Sounds good? It performs even better! And it won Prophix an award!
Labsie has forever lusted after Oakley shades but I kept telling him, what's the point? Shades are shades no matter the brand, and he's bound to lose it or break it within 3 months. That's thousands of pesos down the drain. Tsk! But now, I heard that Oakley are making watches! And pundits are saying it's the hottest thing to hit the market in years! Oakley watches will definitely be on Labsie's wish list this Christmas, and this time, I have no complaints about it. It's gorgeous, it's useful, and he won't lose it for sure. Hey, my line just rhymed! LOL!
Christmas is once again at the corner and I'm making our gift list already. If ever we'll have some money left over from the wedding, Labsie and I are planning to get the men in our family the best leather accessories we can afford =) And of course, we're looking at Johnston and Murphy's leather products. This company has spent the last 150 years making footwear, and now they are using their knowledge and skills to craft leather wallets, passport cases or computer brief bags. For sure there's a right leather product our dads and brothers! =)
Now that Kadayawan is here, visitors are flocking once again to Davao. And unlike other prime cities in the Philippines, everything in our metropolitan city is affordable. Even seafoods are cheap! And if you're looking for Davao cheap hotels, here's a partial list:
1. Sychar Hotel (Bajada, near Victoria Plaza) - P700+ single, P900++ double with free breakfast
2. Roadway Inn (Bajada, in front Davao Light and Power Corp plant) - P900++ double with NO breakfast
3. C5 Dormitel (Roxas, near Ateneo de Davao University) - P650 single, P1000 double
I'll add to this list as soon as I have more info. You can also search the internet for more info.
My father is a golf nut. But I think he was into it at first because of his work. Apparently, golf is the “in” thing among executives, lol! Then my father began to appreciate the sport to the point he already loved it -- so much in fact that Papa began teaching my two brothers the so-called gentleman’s sport. Every time we had a chance to go on vacation, we would go somewhere that has a golf course or even just a tee range. There, Papa taught my brothers the importance of golf swing and the need to concentrate. Unfortunately for him, my bros weren’t into golf as he is. I don’t know if Papa was disappointed about their lack of interest, but here’s my two cents: so much for male bonding, lol! In fairness, golf made it easy for me to buy gifts for Papa -- golf bags, golf balls, anything golf makes him happy ^_^
VISUAL TALKING!!!
Christina Applegate has breast cancer.
August worldwide events!
HammeRuler yet again! LOL
On the wedding plans: Not much happening, hehe! We have booked the church (St. Francis Parish), almost all hotels in Davao (hahaha!) for the wedding reception, the florist (c/o Sophia's Spring Flowers), and wedding planner (Events by Ria) months ago. The GOOD news: almost all the legal and church paperwork are done. We'll get our marriage license on June 24, yippee! =) We finished the Pre-Cana seminar too! For all the how-tos on wedding paperwork, visit our wedding blog at Solito-Elbanbuena.info -- so much hassle if you do it yourself like we did! Whew! The BAD news: I still don't have a wedding gown (got gowns for the entourage already) and Labsie doesn't have a tuxedo yet. We are badly in need of an affordable tailor!!! If you know one, please let me know. Thanks!
On my Physician Licensure Exam review: aka medical board exam review, hehe! I ditched the review given by our school and instead just went on self-review. I am on my 9th subject (3 more to go, mostly clinical subjects) with 3 weeks to go. Migod!!! And here I am blogging!!! o_O Exams will be on August 9-10, 16-17. If you're a prayerful person, please pray that I'll pass (so that I may serve the Filipino people already, hehe) and also all the other examiners. As they say, studying is nothing if prayers are lacking.. We need prayers guys! Libre checkup, promise! Hehe!
On Labsie: aka my fiance' =) He's a tech trainer already!! Whee!! He applied for the position when their company announced an internal hiring thinking he'll get a regular work schedule. He previously worked the 2am shift for more than 6 months so when an 8am-5pm job opened, he grabbed the chance. Unfortunately, being a tech trainer does NOT mean having a regular sked at all =( At times he had to work for more than 12 hours (from 430am to 5pm) coz he's the only trainer with the new skills that has to be disseminated to the rest of the workforce. Poor Labsie! I just hope his sked will become regular before it takes a toll on his health. With the rainy weather we have plus his lack of sleep and long work hours.. Sigh
Then visit me in the mountains of Mintal! Hehe! Coz finally, our home is a wifi zone! Yes!!! Above is the wireless router that my brother in Manila got for us. We already have an unlimited DSL connection for about 6 years now, and having wifi access is definitely the next step. So friends, next time you visit me, bring your wifi-ready laptops. O di ba sosyal Chin?? You won’t just play games on your laptop while you’re here, you can access the internet na rin! Hehe! =) Next up is to install KVM switches and stuff. Yeah!If you're not a tech person, then chances are you'd think that Cat6 is a type of cat-- you know, that feline furry animal. Hehe! But no, Cat6 is a cable standard for Gigabit Ethernet and other network protocols that is backward compatible with the Category 5/5e and Category 3 cable standards. Cat6 features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise. The cable standard provides performance of up to 250 MHz and is suitable for 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet). Neat huh?? =) Anyhoo, I won't be needing this product, I just read about it on a tech blog. Thought I'd just share it with you all! Next up are HDMI wall plate, hehe! ^_^
I want one! And a Wii plus Xbox 360! LOL! I can't wait for my board exam and our wedding to be done with so I can start saving for leisure gadgets. Hehe! The best part is, there are so mannnnny games to choose from these days (not only in playstation 3 and other video consoles) but also for PC and handheld video game devices (DS, PSP). An even better news? The Sims 3 will be out in 2009!!! I'm a Sims 1 addict (who isn't??) and I can't believe Sims 3 will be released so soon after Sims 2. Not to mention that The Sims series is available in all platforms now. Yup, it's not only in PC anymore! Gaming time! =)
